AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 43-21-122, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE MISSISSIPPI JUDICIAL COLLEGE SHALL DETERMINE THE QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTORNEYS WHO ARE APPOINTED BY A COURT TO PROVIDE LEGAL REPRESENTATION TO INDIGENT PARENTS IN TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS CASES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The following shall be codified as Section 43-21-122, Mississippi Code of 1972:
43-21-122. The Mississippi Judicial College shall determine the qualifications and training requirements for attorneys who are appointed by a court to provide legal representation to indigent parents in termination of parental rights cases.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
