Senate Bill 2411
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AND DIRECT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF STATE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT POLICIES ALLOWING STUDENTS TO TRANSFER BETWEEN STATE INSTITUTIONS WITHOUT LOSS OF CREDIT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) The Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning shall promulgate and adopt regulations providing that when a student transfers from one state university to another state university, any course credits that have been earned by the student will be recognized by the university to which the student transfers.
(2) The requirements of this section shall be applicable to students in the 2016 fall semester.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2016.
