AN ACT TO DESIGNATE A SEGMENT OF UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 12 IN OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, AS THE "G. LOUIS JONES MEMORIAL HIGHWAY" IN MEMORY OF THE DECEASED FORMER POLICE CHIEF GRANVEL LOUIS JONES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  (1)  The section of Mississippi Highway 12 located in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi, beginning at Sturgis-Maben Road in Sturgis, Mississippi, and extending one (1) mile east to Sturgis-Louisville Road in Sturgis, Mississippi, is designated and shall be known as the "G. Louis Jones Memorial Highway" in memory of deceased former Police Chief Granvel Louis Jones of Oktibbeha, Mississippi.

     (2)  The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
