A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MRS. PAULINE C. BANKS AND EXPRESSING DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS UPON HER PASSING.
WHEREAS, Mrs. Pauline C. Banks of Holmes County, Mississippi, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the age of 86, to enter into eternal rest with her Heavenly Father, rendering great sorrow and loss to her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, born and raised in Holmes County, Mississippi, Mrs. Banks was a staunch advocate for the educational success of all children, and devoted more than 37 years to the Holmes County School System, cultivating and enhancing the minds of those pupils under her tutelage and instruction; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Banks, a reverent woman with charm and grace who loved the Lord, was very independent in the performance of the tasks with which she was charged, instilling those quality characteristic traits in her family; and
WHEREAS, she was a dedicated member of the Nazareth Missionary Baptist Church in Tchula, Mississippi, and was committed to serving her community of Holmes County through social and civic involvement; and
WHEREAS, not only does Mrs. Banks' passing signify the loss of a devoted mother, but also a confident counselor and close friend who was always available to share an encouraging word and demonstrate unwavering support; and
WHEREAS, though she has now traversed the rivers of life to stand on golden heavenly shores to await the calling of the roll from the Lamb's Book of Life, the legacy of her endearing memory will continue to last in the lives of her survivors, including: son, Reverend Barron Banks; sister, Mrs. Myrtis C. Buchanan; three grandsons, Aaron B. Banks, Joseph M. Banks and Lamarcus Banks; six great-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and other relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to commend the life of such a caring and gentle soul as Mrs. Banks, whose passing is the holy will of God manifested in the time and sequence predestined by him before our birth:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend the life and legacy of Mrs. Pauline C. Banks and express deepest sympathy to her family and friends upon her passing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the family of Mrs. Banks and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
