A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MS. CLAIRE WALLEY UPON BEING CROWNED 2009 MISSISSIPPI MISS HOSPITALITY.
WHEREAS, in August of 2009, Ms. Claire Walley was crowned as Mississippi's Miss Hospitality; and
WHEREAS, a native of Sand Hill in Greene County, she won the competition with two successful interviews, a speech and a commercial she titled, "Go Green in Greene County"; and
WHEREAS, as the 60th Miss Hospitality, Claire has graced numerous events throughout this state with her presence, and she will represent the State of Mississippi in the spring of 2010 for Mississippi Day in New York City; and
WHEREAS, a senior at William Carey University working toward biology and chemistry degrees, Claire is active with Baptist Student Union, STAR after-school tutoring service and Relay for Life; and
WHEREAS, none have been more proud to have her as their Miss Hospitality than her parents, Robin and Ann Walley; and
WHEREAS, there is no doubt this impressive young lady will achieve great success as a leader in this state; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by outstanding young Mississippians such as Ms. Claire Walley:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Ms. Claire Walley upon being chosen as Mississippi's 2009 Miss Hospitality and extend best wishes for continued success in all of her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ms. Claire Walley, her parents and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
