A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR ATTENDANCE CENTER LADY FALCONS VOLLEYBALL TEAM AND HEAD COACH ANDY WILBANKS UPON WINNING THE 2022 MISSISSIPPI HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (MHSAA) CLASS 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

     WHEREAS, the Ingomar Attendance Center Lady Falcons Volleyball Team reigned victorious against the Resurrection Catholic School Eagles, capturing the team's first-ever Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 1A State Championship; and

     WHEREAS, as the Lady Falcons have climbed the ladder in each of their four seasons since starting a volleyball program, it was just a matter of time before this exceptional team took home a golden ball in volleyball; and

     WHEREAS, on October 21, 2022, at the Mississippi State University Volleyball Facility, in Starkville, Mississippi, the Lady Falcons finally reached the mountaintop, sweeping Resurrection Catholic School Eagles 3-0, to take home the 2022 MHSAA Class 1A State Championship; and

     WHEREAS, with a season record of 26-2, the Lady Falcons finished their season as Union County Champions, Division 2-1A Champions, North Half Champions, and Class 1A State Champions; and  

     WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons have been superbly coached and inspired by Head Coach Andy Wilbanks and Assistant Coach Laura Hogue, who have broadened their knowledge of the game, while refining their skills in execution, continuing the tradition of building upon the legacy of superior play and true sportsmanship forged by the tenacious and undaunted spirit of each team member, as evidenced in their ability to produce high caliber players and plays, as evidenced by the team's successful championship season; and

     WHEREAS, in addition to Coach Wilbanks and Coach Hogue, the Lady Falcons have been tremendously supported by the team's athletic trainer, Jeremy Dorrough, and managers:  Maggie Nance, Rachel Weeden, Ella Weeden, Eden Wilbanks, Ella Hart Wilbanks, Jaida Latsady, Eve Cooper and Jack Wilbanks; and

     WHEREAS, the 2022 Lady Falcons Championship roster is comprised of the following talented student-athletes:  Macie Phifer, Lindsey Dillard, Cadie Jo Byrd, Anna Lauren Glasson, Brooklyn Wicker, Taylor Stout, Tnya Jones, Audrey Maupin, Tyrani Jones, Bella Phifer, Marissa Bell, Kaylee Crawford, Daylen Grisham, Issie Riddle, Abby Miller, Miley Roberts and Kylie Jumper; and  

     WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor the achievements of student-athletes such as the Lady Falcons, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar Attendance Center Lady Falcons Volleyball Team and Head Coach Andy Wilbanks for winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 1A State Championship, and extend to the team best wishes for future success.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Head Coach Andy Wilbanks, Assistant Coach Laura Hogue and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
