A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ANNA KATHERINE ADAMS OF SINGING RIVER ACADEMY IN GAUTIER, MISSISSIPPI, FOR BEING NAMED AN EXTRAORDINARY EDUCATOR FOR 2023 BY CURRICULUM ASSOCIATES.
WHEREAS, Curriculum Associates created the Extraordinary Educators program to celebrate and connect Best in Class teachers from across the nation; and
WHEREAS, the 2023 Class of Extraordinary Educators includes an elite group of 30 Grades K-8 educators from across the country who illustrate growth and achievement via formal assessments, demonstrate classroom innovation and engagement practices for students, are evangelists for high standards and student achievement, and exhibit best-in-class use of i-Ready and/or Ready instructional resources designed by Curriculum Associates in their classroom; and
WHEREAS, Anna Katherine Adams was named as an inductee of the 2023 Class of Extraordinary Educators, as she personifies the ideals that Curriculum Associates set forth with the program; and
WHEREAS, Anna Katherine Adams, who has been teaching for 11 years, holds a bachelor of arts degree in elementary education from the University of Mississippi, and currently teaches Fifth Grade at Gautier's Singing River Academy, where she incorporates magic and innovation into her daily lessons; and
WHEREAS, Anna Katherine Adams, an avid dancer growing up, even landing a role as a Disney performer, has used her love of dance to offer volunteer choreography and lessons for students, and to inspire her teaching method in the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Anna Katherine Adams celebrates the individuality of each of her students and keeps an atmosphere that allows communication, art and movement so students can explore content in multiple ways or experiences; and
WHEREAS, being inducted into the 2023 Class of Extraordinary Educators, Anna Katherine Adams has received recognition locally and nationally, gained access to a network of peers from around the country, earned professional development opportunities, and will have the opportunity to attend the Extraordinary Educators Leadership Summit in Boston, Massachusetts; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and commend excellence in the accomplishments and remarkable service of educators of Anna Katherine Adams' exceptional caliber, who have tirelessly and selflessly devoted their lives to imparting light and knowledge into the bright scholars of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Anna Katherine Adams of Singing River Academy in Gautier, Mississippi, for being named as an inductee of the Curriculum Associates 2023 Class of Extraordinary Educators and extend sincerest wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Anna Katherine Adams and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
