A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE COMMITMENT OF MR. DREW LENARD TO EDUCATION AND PROVIDING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING TO EMPLOYEES OF THE ANEL CORPORATION THROUGH COURSES PROVIDED BY A PROGRAM WITH HOLMES COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
WHEREAS, 62-year-old Vaiden native, Drew Lenard, is working hard to make the future of several Carroll Countians by using his experience and knowledge as a former educator to enhance the skills of employees at Anel Corporation by providing workforce development training, through a program incorporated into the curriculum at Holmes Community College; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lenard's educational background started in 1969, when the Mississippi State University graduate returned to his hometown to begin teaching vocational courses at Vaiden High School, and for the next 29 years he would contribute to the vocational matriculation of students in the Carroll County School District; and
WHEREAS, over the course of the last year, more than 60 Anel employees have completed the blue print course, which is essential to the operations of the manufacturing company, and the training has been touted not only as a reinforcing component for the work done at the company, but also as a catalyst for the advancement of education attainment; and
WHEREAS, the Anel Corporation is Carroll County's largest manufacturer with more than 90 employees which serves as a supplier of high quality custom metal fabrications, and after partnering with Holmes Community College to provide employee training received a rare gift in the form of Mr. Lenard; and
WHEREAS, in these trying economic times, Mr. Lenard's training proves to be a vital necessity for the advancement of the company's employees, as he invokes a sense of pride in those who engage in the program and are filled with a sense of accomplishment upon the completion of a task or honing a new skill; and
WHEREAS, when he is not in his mode of instruction, Mr. Lenard, who has shared a fondness of leather since his childhood, is hard at work in his leather business, appropriately named Lenard's Leather, preparing items from saddles to pistol holsters and numerous other items for persons throughout the region who seek him out; and
WHEREAS, a man of many talents, Mr. Lenard is actively involved in the building of the Christian Kingdom through his work as Minister of Music at Vaiden Baptist Church, and shares the joys received from his Christian laboring with his wife of 40 years, Vanda Lenard, and their three children, Daniel, Pamela and Paula; and
WHEREAS, it is with great pride that this Legislature recognizes the efforts of an individual of Mr. Lenard's astute caliber to give back to his community through educational opportunities afforded to the growing workforce:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the commitment of Mr. Drew Lenard to education and providing workforce development training to employees of the Anel Corporation through courses provided by a program with Holmes Community College, and extend to him greatest appreciation and sincere wishes for continued success in all of his future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Lenard, the Anel Corporation, Holmes Community College and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
