A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE OCEAN SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL DANCE TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2010 CLASS 6A STATE DANCE CHAMPIONSHIP IN BOTH THE POM CATEGORY AND JAZZ CATEGORY.

WHEREAS, the 2010 Ocean Springs High School Dance Team won the 2010 Class 6A Dance Championship in both the Pom Category and the Jazz Category; and

WHEREAS, a high school dance team might sound like fun and games to some people, but for the members of the Ocean Springs High School Dance Team it meant much hard work and plenty of lengthy practice sessions; and

WHEREAS, under the guidance of Head Coach Kim Perry and Assistant Coach Amanda Reiser, the hours of hard work and dedication paid off as the team put together outstanding performances to rise above a field of intense competition and prevail as state champions in the Pom Category and in the Jazz Category; and

WHEREAS, in addition to coaching the team to the state championship, Coach Perry and Coach Reiser have instilled and fostered in the members of the team the discipline and work ethic that will help them to be successful in other phases of their lives; and

WHEREAS, the 2010 Ocean Springs High School Dance Team members include: Katherine Baggett, Kalynn Broome, Kaitlyn Brown, Tieraney Cade, Jessica Campbell, Lauren Cannon, Celena Catchings, Kimberly Choate, Savee Dalgo, Amy Ferriss, Jennifer Frosch, Kristina Gautier, Ashley Maiolotesi, Anna Myers, Harmony Myhres, Christina Reid, Maggie Reid, Sara Ridgeway, Adria Sabino and Bailey Wineski; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend such a superb group of student athletes as the Ocean Springs High School Dance Team, who have brought honor to their school, their community and to the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the 2010 Ocean Springs High School Dance Team, Head Coach Kim Perry and Assistant Coach Amanda Reiser for winning the Class 6A State Championship in both the Pom Category and the Jazz Category and extend best wishes for continued success in all of their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ocean Springs High School, Coach Kim Perry, Assistant Coach Amanda Reiser and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
