House Bill 646
AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ANY COUNTY AND THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF ANY MUNICIPALITY TO PAY CONTRACTORS BY ELECTRONIC DEPOSIT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The board of supervisors of any county and the governing authorities of any municipality may pay a contractor by direct deposit or electronic deposit to an account, designated by the contractor, that is with a financial institution and that is a participant of the Automated Clearing House if such contractor agrees to the deposit being subject to the systems and procedures established by the Department of Audit pursuant to Section 7-7-211.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2023.
