House Bill 1287
AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES SHALL PROVIDE THE FUNDING FOR A COMMUNAL FEEDING PROGRAM FOR ELDERLY PERSONS IN A COUNTY IN A BLOCK GRANT MADE DIRECTLY FROM THE DEPARTMENT TO THE COUNTY, UPON A REQUEST TO DO SO FROM THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. In any county in which there is a communal feeding program for elderly persons for which state or federal funding is available through the Department of Human Services, the department shall provide the funding for the program in a block grant made directly from the department to the county without going through any other entity, upon a request to do so from the board of supervisors of the county.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
