House Bill 1027

AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 37-111-5, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROVIDES STUDENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN FRATERNITIES, SORORITIES OR OTHER SIMILAR UNIVERSITY OR COLLEGE SOCIETIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

     SECTION 1.  Section 37-111-5, Mississippi Code of 1972, which provides student eligibility requirements for membership in fraternities, sororities or other similar university or college societies, is repealed.

     SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2011.
