Summary

An Act To Codify Section 43-19-36, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize The Administrative Suspension Of Child Support For Noncustodial Parents Who Are Incarcerated For More Than 180 Days; To Amend Section 43-19-48, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Allow Financial Institutions To Authorize The Department Of Human Services To Send Notices Regarding Child Support In A Manner Other Than Certified Mail; To Amend Sections 93-11-65, 93-11-103 And 93-11-111, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Clarify That Overdue Child Support Is Payable To The Custodial Parent After Emancipation Of A Child Unless A Court Determines Otherwise, Clarify Lump-sum Withholdings And Clarify When An Employer May Receive A Fee For Withholding Child Support; And For Related Purposes.
