Summary
An Act To Create The "volunteer Emergency Responder Job Protection Act"; To Define Certain Terms; To Provide That An Employee Shall Not Be Terminated, Demoted Or In Any Other Manner Discriminated Against Because The Employee, When Serving As A Volunteer Emergency Responder, Is Absent From The Employee's Place Of Employment; To Provide That The Employment Protection Does Not Apply If The Volunteer Employee Is Absent For A Period Of More Than 10 Regular Business Days In A Calendar Year; To Provide That An Employer May Charge Against An Employee's Regular Pay Time That The Employee Is Absent From Employment While Serving As A Volunteer Emergency Responder; To Provide A Civil Cause Of Action For Violations Of The Act; And For Related Purposes.
