Summary

An Act To Amend Section 73-7-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Authorize And Empower The State Board Of Health Acting Through The State Department Of Health To Administer The Examination, Licensing And Regulation Of Persons Who Practice Cosmetology, Esthetics, Manicuring, Pedicuring Or Wigology; To Provide That Fees Charged For The Examination, Licensure And Regulation Of Cosmetologists Shall Be Deposited Into A Special Fund To Be Used By The State Department Of Health For Such Purpose; To Abolish The State Board Of Cosmetology And Transfer Its Responsibilities And Duties To The State Board Of Health; To Transfer The Regulation Of Schools And Instructors Of Cosmetology From The State Board Of Cosmetology To The Commission On Proprietary School And College Registration; To Amend Sections 73-7-2, 73-7-3, 73-7-5, 73-7-7, 73-7-9, 73-7-12, 73-7-13, 73-7-15, 73-7-16, 73-7-17, 73-7-18, 73-7-21, 73-7-23, 73-7-25, 73-7-27, 73-7-29, 73-7-37 And 73-7-63, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity Thereto; To Amend Section 75-60-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Delete The Exemption Of Cosmetology Schools And Courses Of Instruction From The Jurisdiction Of The Commission On Proprietary School And College Registration; And For Related Purposes.
