Summary

An Act To Amend Section 83-5-35, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That Certain Policies Containing Concurrent Causation Exclusions Are Defined As Unfair Methods Of Competition And Unfair And Deceptive Acts Or Practices In The Business Of Insurance; To Provide That, Whenever A Loss Under A Homeowners Or Commercial Property Insurance Policy Is Caused By A Combination Of A Covered Risk And An Excluded Risk, An Insurer Shall Be Liable If The Covered Risk Was The Efficient Proximate Cause Of The Loss; And For Related Purposes.
