Summary
An Act To Prohibit Any State Agency From Hiring Any New Employees In Any Position Classified By The State Personnel Board As An Information Technology Position; To Require The State Personnel Board To Immediately Suspend The Hirings Of Such Person Upon The Effective Date Of This Act; To Require Each State Agency Employment Position Classified As An Information Technology Position To Be Transferred To The Mississippi Department Of Information Technology Services (mdits); To Require Mdits To Assign Persons Holding Such Positions To Respective State Agency Of Those Persons' Employment; To Require Mdits To Evaluate The Technology Needs And Responsibilities Of State Agencies To Make Necessary Personnel Changes And Reduce The Duplication Of Services; To Exempt The Employees Of Certain Extension Of State Government From The Provision Of This Act; To Amend Sections 25-53-5, 25-53-29, 25-53-151, 25-53-171 And 27-104-205, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Remove Mdits From The List Of Special Fund Agencies Which Have Their Expenses Defrayed By Appropriation From The State General Fund And All User Charges And Fees Deposited Into The State General Fund, And Restore The Special Fund Of The Agency To Its Original Status; To Bring Forward Sections 25-53-1, 25-53-3, 25-53-7, 25-53-9, 25-53-11, 25-53-13, 25-53-15, 25-53-17, 25-53-19, 25-53-21, 25-53-23, 25-53-25, 25-53-51, 25-53-53, 25-53-55, 25-53-57, 25-53-59, 25-53-101, 25-53-105, 25-53-107, 25-53-109, 25-53-111, 25-53-113, 25-53-115, 25-53-117, 25-53-119, 25-53-121, 25-53-123, 25-53-125 And 25-53-191, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Are The Provisions Relating To The Mississippi Department Of Information Technology Services And Its Powers And Duties, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
