Summary

An Act To Amend Section 75-63-53, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Define The Term "substitute Provider" As Used Under The Preneed Cemetery And Funeral Registration Act; To Amend Section 75-63-59, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Prohibit Preneed Contract Trust Funds From Being Loaned To Certain Persons Or Invested In Businesses In Which Those Persons Have An Interest, And To Require A Trustee To Disburse Trust Funds To A Lawfully Appointed Substitute Provider Who Serviced The Beneficiary's Final Needs; To Amend Section 75-63-63, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Establish That Preneed Contracts In Mississippi Are Portable And To Authorize The Appointment Of Substitute Providers; To Amend Section 75-63-68, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Manner By Which A Preneed Contract Provider May Convert Trust Funded Prepaid Funeral Benefits To Preneed Insurance Or Annuity Contracts; And For Related Purposes.
