Summary
An Act To Be Known As The "health Care Practitioner Transparency Act" To Provide Clarity And Transparency For Patients When They Search For And Visit Health Care Practitioners; To Provide That Advertisements For Health Care Services That Name A Health Care Practitioner Must Identify The Type Of License Held By The Practitioner And Must Be Free From Any And All Deceptive Or Misleading Information; To Require Health Care Practitioners Providing Health Care Services In This State To Conspicuously Post And Affirmatively Communicate The Practitioner's Specific Licensure By Wearing A Photo Identification Name Tag During All Patient Encounters That Includes The Type Of License Held By The Practitioner; To Require Health Care Practitioners To Display In Their Office A Writing That Clearly Identifies The Type Of License Held By The Practitioner; To Provide That Failure To Comply With Any Provision Of This Act Constitutes A Violation Of This Act; To Provide That Any Health Care Practitioner Who Violates Any Provision Of This Act Is Guilty Of Unprofessional Conduct And Subject To Disciplinary Action Under The Appropriate Licensure Provisions Governing The Respective Health Care Practitioner; To Amend Sections 73-6-19, 73-9-61, 73-10-21, 73-15-29, 73-19-23, 73-21-97, 73-23-59, 73-24-24, 73-25-29, 73-27-13, 73-30-21, 73-31-21, 73-38-27, 73-53-17, 73-54-29, 73-55-19, 73-57-31, 73-65-13, 73-67-27 And 73-71-33, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
