Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-57-1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Remove Temporary Ad Valorem Tax Assessment Language Which Became Obsolete On June 30, 2003, For Certain Local Governing Authorities Levying Assessments In Excess Of 55 Mills On July 1, 1997, To Levy An Additional Amount Not Exceeding Three Mills In The Aggregate; To Amend Sections 37-57-104 And 37-57-105, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Remove Temporary Ad Valorem Tax Assessment Language Which Became Obsolete On June 30, 2003, For Certain Local Governing Authorities Levying Assessments In Excess Of 55 Mills On July 1, 1997, To Levy An Additional Amount Not Exceeding Three Mills In The Aggregate; To Provide For The July 1, 2023, Repeal Of The Taxations Provisions Which Allow Local Governing Authorities To Automatically Approve An Ad Valorem Tax Increase In Dollars That Does Not Exceed Four Percent Of The Preceding Year's Ad Valorem Tax Effort In Dollars; To Bring Forward Section 37-57-107, Mississippi Code Of 1972, For The Purpose Of Possible Amendments; And For Related Purposes.
