Summary

An Act To Amend Section 47-7-3, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That An Offender Who Committed An Offense Before The Age Of 26 Shall Be Eligible For Parole After Serving 50% Of His Or Her Sentence For A Crime Of Violence Or 25% For A Nonviolent Crime; To Provide That An Offender Sentenced To Life Imprisonment Shall Be Eligible For Parole After Serving 20 Years Of His Or Her Sentence; To Bring Forward Section 47-7-3.2, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Pertains To The Minimum Time That An Offender Must Serve Before Being Released, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
