Summary

An Act To Amend Section 45-6-11, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That When A Law Enforcement Officer Resigns, The Law Enforcement Agency From Which The Officer Has Resigned Must Provide The Board On Law Enforcement Officer Standards And Training Notification Of The Officer's Action Within A Specified Time Frame; To Provide That When An Officer Is Terminated Or Resigns, Due To Disciplinary Action, The Agency Shall Provide Notification Of The Resignation Or Termination To The Board And Must Provide An Explanation Concerning The Resignation Or Termination Due To Such Disciplinary Action; To Prescribe Certain Penalties For The Failure Of An Agency To Report Such Action Of An Officer; To Provide That Such Agency May Appeal The Decision Of The Board; To Amend Section 45-6-19, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Section; To Bring Forward Section 45-6-17, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Pertains To Noncomplying Officers And Officers With Certificates Revoked Or Suspended, For Purposes Of Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
