Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-21-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The Local Superintendent Of Schools To Enter Into Contract With Assistant Teachers Approved For Employment By The School Board; To Specify The Contents Of The Contract Including The Total Amount Of The Annual Salary And The Method And Frequency Of Payment Of That Salary; To Provide That The Amount Of Salary For Assistant Teacher Shall Be The Amount Fixed And Determined By The School Board, But Not In An Amount Less Than One-half The Amount Of The Base Salary Established For Licensed Teacher With An Equal Number Of Years Of Service; To Delete The Minimum Salary Established By Law For Assistant Teachers; And For Related Purposes.
