Summary
An Act To Amend Section 31-11-27, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The Department Of Finance And Administration To Conduct A Study Of Capital Needs Of All State Institutions Of Higher Learning And Community And Junior Colleges, Including The Conditions Of Roofs; To Require The Roofs Of Such Facilities Be Inspected At Least Every Three Years Through A Visual Inspection Performed By A Licensed Architect Of Through Thermal Imaging Inspection; To Require That Each Institution Prioritize The List Of Capital Improvement Projects On The Basis Of Need Which Shall Be Submitted To The Dfa, Which Shall Include The Need For Such Projects In Its Legislative Report; To Require Dfa To Identify All Nonstate Funding Sources Available To Support New Construction Projects And Future Operations, Renovations And Repair; And For Related Purposes.
