Summary
An Act To Create New Section 83-9-46.1, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require Health Insurance Carriers That Provide Coverage For Prescription Insulin Drugs To Cap The Total Amount That A Covered Person Is Required To Pay For A Covered Prescription Insulin Drug At An Amount Not To Exceed One Hundred Dollars Per Thirty-day Supply Of Insulin, Regardless Of The Amount Or Type Of Insulin Needed To Fill The Covered Person's Prescription; To Direct The Attorney General To Investigate Pricing Of Prescription Insulin Drugs That Are Made Available To Mississippi Consumers To Ensure Adequate Consumer Protections In Pricing Of Prescription Insulin Drugs And Whether Additional Consumer Protections Are Needed; To Provide That The Attorney General Shall Issue And Make Available To The Public, The Governor And The Legislature A Report Detailing His Or Her Findings From The Investigation Conducted Under This Act; To Bring Forward Section 25-15-9, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Provides For The State And School Employees Health Insurance Plan, For The Purpose Of Possible Amendment; To Bring Forward Section 83-9-46, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Provides That Health Insurance Policies And Plans Must Offer Coverage For Diabetes Treatments, For The Purpose Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
