Summary

An Act To Repeal Section 37-163-62, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Establishes The School Start Date Act, Which Prescribes That Beginning With The 2014-2015 School Year, All Public Elementary Or Secondary Schools Under The Jurisdiction Of The State Board Of Education Shall Begin The New Academic Year Of Instruction For Students On Or After The Third Monday In August; To Bring Forward Section 37-13-61, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Vests Power And Authority In The Local School Board Of Each School District To Establish The Dates For The Opening And Closing Of The School Term, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
