Summary
An Act To Amend Section 37-17-6, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Method Of Calculating High School Graduation Rates For Purposes Of Accountability By Including An Option For Calculating Based On A Five-year Completion Model For Issuance Of Standard Diplomas; To Amend Section 37-16-15, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide Students Who Fail To Achieve A Passing Score On The Map Assessment After Three Attempts With An Opportunity To Enroll In An Alternative Exit Course And Take An Alternate Assessment For Purpose Of Receiving A Standard Diploma For Satisfactorily Passing The Alternate Assessment; To Make Accommodations For Alternative Exit Courses And Assessments For Students With Disabilities To Receive A Standard Diploma Upon Graduation Provided Certain Requirements Are Fulfilled; And For Related Purposes.
