Summary
An Act To Authorize The Board Of Trustees Of State Institutions Of Higher Learning, In Collaboration With The Mississippi Department Of Information Technology Services, To Establish A Program To Provide Devices And Connectivity Technology To Students Lacking Such Technology Whenever An Institution Of Higher Learning Transitions In-person Classes To Remote Learning Due To A Public Health Emergency Or Other State Of Emergency; To Amend Section 31-7-13, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Provide That A Purchase Under The Program To Fulfill Technology Needs Expeditiously Is Deemed An Emergency Purchase For Purposes Of The Procurement And Competitive Bidding Law; To Bring Forward Section 25-53-191, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Authorizes The Department Of Information Technology Services To Issue Wireless Communication Devices To State Employees, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
