Summary
An Act To Amend Section 27-65-75, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Increase From Eighteen And One-half To Twenty The Percentage Of Total Sales Tax Revenue Collected In Municipalities That Is Diverted To Municipalities Within The State; To Provide That Such Percentage Shall Be Reduced To Eighteen And One-half Percent On The First Day Of The Month Next Succeeding The Effective Date Of Any General Law Of The State Of Mississippi That Authorizes Municipalities To Impose An Additional Sales Tax Or Similar Tax On The Gross Proceeds Of Sale Or Gross Income, As The Case May Be, Derived From Any Of The Activities Taxed At The Rate Of Seven Percent Or More Under The Mississippi Sales Tax Law; And For Related Purposes.
