Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-19-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Establish The National Board Certified Teacher's Incentive Pilot Program To Provide An Additional Annual Salary Supplement In The Amount Of $6,000.00 To Any Licensed Teacher Holding A Certificate From The National Board For Professional Teaching Standards Who Enters Into A Contract For Employment In A School District Determined To Be Experiencing A Critical Shortage In The Number Of Teachers With National Certification; To Require The State Board Of Education To Prescribe The Rules And Regulations Which, Subject To Available Appropriations, Allow For The Salary Supplement; To Authorize The State Board Of Education To Make The Determination Of Level Of Need By District For Which A Teacher Shall Be Eligible For Receipt Of The Incentive Salary Supplement; And For Related Purposes.
