Summary

An Act To Authorize The Governing Authorities Of The City Of Booneville, Mississippi, To Levy An Additional Sales Tax Of Not More Than 2% Upon The Gross Proceeds Of Sales Of Hotels And Motels Derived From Room Rentals And Upon The Gross Proceeds Of Sales Of Restaurants For The Purpose Of Providing Funds To Promote Tourism, Parks And Recreation In The City; To Provide For An Election On Whether Such Tax May Be Levied; To Provide That The Proceeds Of The Tax Shall Be Equally Distributed To The Booneville & Prentiss County Main Street Association And The City's Parks And Recreation Department In Order To Promote Tourism And Parks And Recreation; To Clarify How The Proceeds Of The Tax May Be Expended For The Promotion Of Tourism And Parks And Recreation; And For Related Purposes.
