Summary

An Act To Amend Chapter 946, Local And Private Laws Of 2011, To Extend The Date Of Repeal On The Provision Of Law That Authorizes The Mayor And Board Of Aldermen Of The City Of Brandon, Mississippi, To Levy A Tax Upon The Sale Of Prepared Food And Beverages In Restaurants And Bars In An Amount Not To Exceed Two Percent Of Gross Proceeds For The Purpose Of Promoting Tourism, Parks And Recreation And Requires The Tax, Before Its Imposition, Be Approved By Sixty Percent Of Qualified Electors Voting In A Referendum On The Question Of Levying The Tax And Requires The Tax Be Collected By The Department Of Revenue And Paid To The City Of Brandon; And For Related Purposes.
