Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-19-10, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Performance-based Funding Program In Order To Provide Greater Funding To School Districts Evidencing The Greatest Levels Of Growth And Proficiency; To Prescribe The Factors To Be Used In Determining Growth Incentive Awards; To Amend Section 37-151-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Maep Formula To Reflect The Funding Mechanism To Be Used In Determining The Base Student Cost And The Base Program Cost For Calculating Allocation To School Districts Evidencing The Greatest Levels Of Growth And Proficiency; To Provide That Beginning With Fiscal Year 2018, The Base Student Cost Shall Be Used In Calculating The Award Amount Under The School District Recognition Program In Addition To The Weighted Formula Developed By The State Department Of Education To Award Funding Points To Districts For Students Determined To Be Most At Risk Who Evidence Greatest Level Of Academic Growth And Proficiency; And For Related Purposes.
