Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-9-105, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Impose A Fine Of $5,000.00 Per Day Upon School Districts For Failure To Provide Teachers With Renewal Contracts Or Notices Of Nonrenewal By The Required Statutory Period On Or Before April 15, Or Within Ten Calendar Days After The Date That The Governor Approves The Appropriation Bill(s) Comprising The State's Education Budget For Funding K-12; To Provide That The Amount Collected In Fines By The State Department Of Education Office Of Educator Licensure Shall Be Remitted To The State Treasurer For Deposit Into The Education Enhancement Fund For Purposes Of Classroom Supplies; To Amend Section 37-61-33, Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity To The Provisions Of This Act; And For Related Purposes.
