Summary

An Act To Require The State Department Of Human Services To Establish A Subsidized Employment Program That Provides For The Payment Of Wage Subsidies To An Employer Who Hires An Unemployed Parent Recipient Of Tanf Assistance; To Prescribe Eligibility Criteria For Both Employers And Tanf Recipients; To Require 50% Of An Eligible Employee's Wages To Be Paid From Tanf Funds Directly To The Employer For Up To 12 Months; To Require The Department To Administer The Program And To Prioritize Subsidies In Those Counties With The Highest Poverty Rates; To Bring Forward Section 43-17-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Establishes The Amounts Of Assistance Available To Tanf Recipients, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; And For Related Purposes.
