Summary

An Act To Provide That Each Person Who Is Eighteen Years Of Age Or Older, Who Is Receiving Public Assistance Benefits And Who Is Not Employed Shall Be Required, As A Condition Of Receiving The Public Assistance Benefits, To Present To The Person's Caseworker Each Quarter Documentation Of The Person's Attempts To Obtain Employment During The Preceding Quarter; To Provide That The State Agency That Administers The Program From Which The Person Receives Public Assistance Benefits Shall Use The Database From The Win Job Centers Of The Mississippi Department Of Employment Security To Verify The Person's Searches And Applications For Employment; To Provide That Any Person Subject To This Act Who Does Not Present To The Person's Caseworker Each Month Sufficient Documentation Of The Person's Attempts To Obtain Employment Shall Be Ineligible To Receive The Public Assistance Benefits For A Certain Period Of Time; To Amend Sections 43-13-115 And 43-17-5, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Conform To The Preceding Provisions; And For Related Purposes.
