Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-19-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require The Teacher Salary Scale To Be Revised Annually So That Beginning With The 2021-2022 School Year, The Average Teacher's Salary In Mississippi Is Equal To The Southeastern Average; To Bring Forward Section 37-21-7, Mississippi Code Of 1972, Which Provides For Assistant Teachers And Establishes Their Minimum Salary, For Purposes Of Possible Amendment; To Require The State Board Of Education To Establish A Study Committee To Determine And Recommend To The Legislature The Annual Salary Amount That Constitutes A Living Wage For Assistant Teachers And Other Noninstructional School Employees; And For Related Purposes.
