Summary

An Act To Amend Section 97-41-16, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Revise The Mississippi Dog And Cat Pet Protection Law Of 2011; To Provide That The Misdemeanor Crime Of Simple Cruelty To A Dog Or Cat Includes Depriving The Dog Or Cat Of Adequate Sustenance; To Delete The Provision That One Or More Alleged Acts Of The Offenses Of Simple Or Aggravated Cruelty To A Dog Or Cat Committed Against One Or More Dogs And/or Cats Constitutes A Single Offense If The Alleged Acts Occurred At The Same Time; To Provide That The Exemption Describing Those Activities That Do Not Constitute An Offense Under The Law Shall Be Restricted To The Offense Of Simple Cruelty To A Dog Or Cat; And For Related Purposes.
