Summary
An Act To Create A Mississippi Tourism Advertising And Promotion Advisory Board To Assist The Mississippi Development Authority In The Planning Of Initiatives For Advertising And Promoting Tourism In Mississippi; To Establish The Membership Of Such Board As Consisting Of Three Directors Of Convention And Visitors Bureaus In Mississippi Counties Or Municipalities And Two At-large Members From The Restaurant Or Hotel Industry; To Provide For The Appointment Of Such Board Members By The Governor, With Members Serving Terms Concurrent With That Of The Governor; To Amend Section 27-65-75, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Divert One Percent Of Sales Tax Revenue From Restaurants And Hotels To The Mississippi Development Authority Tourism Advertising Fund In Fiscal Year 2019, To Be Increased To Two Percent In Fiscal Year 2020 And To Three Percent In Fiscal Year 2021 And Thereafter; And For Related Purposes.
