Summary

An Act To Amend Section 37-13-92, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Require A School Superintendent Or Principal Of A School To Make A Determination On An Individualized Basis Before Placing Any Compulsory-school-age Child Into An Alternative School; To Provide That In The Absence Of Other Factors, Such Basis Shall Not Include Whether Such Child Has Been Involved With The Court System, Mental Health System Or The Department Of Human Services; To Provide That If A Child Has Completed Certain Residential Programs, Then He Or She Is Presumed To Be Eligible For A Nonalternative School Under Certain Circumstances; To Amend Sections 37-13-91 And 43-21-621 Mississippi Code Of 1972, In Conformity Thereto; And For Related Purposes.
