AN ACT

To amend chapter 105, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to state employee salary increases.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 105, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 105.008, to read as follows:

            105.008. For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014, and the first day of July of each year thereafter, any state employee shall receive a salary increase equal to the increased cost of health insurance premiums from the previous calendar year. As used in this section, the term "state employee" shall mean any nonelected person who is employed by the state and earns a salary or wage in a position normally requiring the actual performance by him or her of duties on behalf of the state. The term "state employee" also includes all juvenile court personnel, whether compensation for such personnel is paid by the state, the judicial circuits, the counties, or a combination thereof.
