AN ACT
To amend chapter 160, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to extracurricular and interscholastic program participation.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:
Section A. Chapter 160, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 160.1180, to read as follows:
160.1180. 1. The provisions of this section shall be known as the "Extracurricular and Interscholastic Opportunities Anti-Discrimination Act".
2. Organized nonpublic school teams shall not be discriminated against as long as the individual students are in compliance with Missouri compulsory education laws. Any individual student not in compliance with section 167.031 shall be disqualified from participation in any public school program provided for in this section. No disqualified student shall be used in the determining qualifications or prerequisites otherwise provided for in this section with regard to any other individual student or team of students.
3. Notwithstanding any other law, no public school or school district shall hold membership or affiliation with, directly or indirectly, any private or public organization which discriminates against any organized teams of nonpublic school students in any interscholastic or extracurricular program of athletics, clubs, or associations.
4. No school-sponsored intramural or interscholastic athletics program, club, association, or other extracurricular activity shall discriminate by disallowing participation of any group or team of nonpublic school students, based on such students' private or home school enrollment.
