AN ACT

To amend chapter 9, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to the designation of Native American Day in Missouri.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 9, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 9.112, to read as follows:

            9.112. The day after Thanksgiving each year shall be known and designated as "Native American Day". The people of the state are recommended to appropriately observe the day with events, activities, and ceremonies in acknowledgment and honor of and out of special gratitude and profound respect for Native Americans who were the first people to inhabit our nation.
