AN ACT

To amend chapter 304, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to safety precautions for trailer and semitrailer operators, with a penalty provision.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapter 304, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 304.870, to read as follows:

            304.870. No person, except law enforcement personnel, shall climb on, or stand or work atop any tanker trailer stopped along any highway of this state unless proper safety precautions are taken, including use of safety tie-off apparatus or other supporting structure. Any person who fails to comply with the requirements of this section is guilty of an infraction and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor more than one hundred dollars.
