AN ACT

To amend chapters 34 and 290, RSMo, by adding thereto two new sections relating to employment practices.




Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the state of Missouri, as follows:


            Section A. Chapters 34 and 290, RSMo, are amended by adding thereto two new sections, to be known as sections 34.056 and 290.142, to read as follows:

            34.056. 1. No public body shall enter into a public works contract, as defined in section 34.058, with any company if it has been proven that within the past five years such company has conducted discriminatory employment practices.

            2. As used in this section, "public body" means the state of Missouri or any public officer, official, authority, board, or commission of the state, or other political subdivision thereof, or any institution supported in whole or in part by public funds.

            290.142. Any employer of this state shall provide to any employee of this state written cause for such employee's termination of employment.
