SB 126 - Under current law, the term of probation for a misdemeanor violation is not to exceed two years.

This act provides that the term of probation for a misdemeanor violation or municipal ordinance violation is not to exceed eighteen months.

Additionally, this act provides that a person on probation under the supervision of a private entity shall not be required to submit to an alcohol or drug test unless he or she is on probation for an offense involving either alcohol or a controlled substance or if the judges shows good cause for the testing.

This act is identical to HB 2248 (2022).
