1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing John Wright on being named Volunteer of the Year for the city of St. Paul
1.3Park.
1.4WHEREAS, those civic-minded individuals who work tirelessly in their communities perform
1.5an important service deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.6WHEREAS, John Wright has been an active volunteer for many years, serving with the St.
1.7Paul Park Police Reserved, the Lions Club, and the American Legion; and
1.8WHEREAS, through the American Legion, John serves as a member of the Honor Guard,
1.9organizes the Take a Kid Fishing program, and regularly assists with other events such as booyas
1.10and fish fries; and
1.11WHEREAS, as a member of the St. Paul Park Newport Lions, John is active in organizing
1.12charitable gambling, which provides funds for the community in St. Paul Park; and
1.13WHEREAS, John is a valuable asset to the American Legion and the Newport Lions and
1.14can always be counted on to help where he is needed; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16commends John Wright of St. Paul Park on his continued volunteerism and congratulates him on
1.17being named Volunteer of the Year.
1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to John Wright.
