1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Sydney Erhardt for winning the state championship in
1.3extemporaneous speaking.
1.4WHEREAS, high school speech competition demands expansive intelligence, steely
1.5nerves, and verbal faculty; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Minnesota State High School Speech Tournament was held April 20,
1.72013, at Blaine High School; and
1.8WHEREAS, Cannon Falls sophomore Sydney Erhardt captured the Class A title in the
1.9Extemporaneous Speaking category with her speech on the prospects of European economies in
1.102013; and
1.11WHEREAS, in 2012 Sydney finished third in the state in Extemporaneous Speaking as a
1.12freshman; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14it recognizes the precocious talents and diligent study of Sydney Erhardt and congratulates her
1.15on her state title in speech.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Sydney Erhardt.
