1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Luke Peterson of St. Michael, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award.
1.3WHEREAS, the Eagle Award is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America;
1.4and
1.5WHEREAS, attaining the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts is an important achievement that
1.6is worthy of recognition; and
1.7WHEREAS, Luke Peterson is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 547 and has
1.8displayed the attributes of a responsible and serving member; and
1.9WHEREAS, he has demonstrated mastery of all scouting skills and completed a community
1.10service project, which involved leading a team that conducted a significant landscape project for
1.11Cornerstone Women's Center in St. Michael; and
1.12WHEREAS, Luke attained the rank of Eagle Scout on December 12, 2018, and an Eagle
1.13Court of Honor will be held on January 13, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Albertville City Hall; and
1.14WHEREAS, Luke, who is a senior at St. Michael-Albertville High School, is planning to
1.15attend college at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Bethel College, or St. Olaf College next year
1.16to study engineering and run cross country and track; and
1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.18congratulates Luke Peterson of St. Michael, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.20copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.21Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Luke Peterson.
