1.1A Senate resolution
1.2recognizing and acknowledging Chao Her for his commitment and service to the
1.3community.
1.4WHEREAS, Chao Her has been an active member of the community, working in the public
1.5sector for over two decades to improve and bring communities together; and
1.6WHEREAS, Chao has been a huge asset in anchoring the Special Forces in Laos Veteran
1.7Memorial statue located on the Minnesota Capitol Mall, recognizing the sacrifice and service of
1.8Vietnam War Veterans in Laos; and
1.9WHEREAS, Chao also presents leadership efforts in the development of the first two Tuj
1.10Lub courts in the State of Minnesota, located at the Duluth & Case Recreation Center in St. Paul
1.11and at Keller Regional Park in Maplewood, for the community members to practice, retain, and
1.12preserve cultural and traditional sports; and
1.13WHEREAS, in his free time, he is passionate about civic engagement - educating relatives,
1.14friends, and citizens about the civic process; and
1.15WHEREAS, Chao also serves as Chair of Foung for Senate 67 Committee; and
1.16WHEREAS, today, we recognize him for his service, his leadership, and his contributions
1.17to the Hmong community; and
1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.19recognizes and honors leadership, service, and commitment to uphold the traditions and values of
1.20the Asian-Pacific community
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.22enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.23Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Chao Her.
